The Spirit Behind The Prosecco

The spirit behind the Prosecco is the same which comes from generations of wine producing and a love for the fruits of the territory that been worked with great respect.
The result of this philosophy are enjoyable sparkling prosecco italy and still wines that embody the genuineness of this special region and the passion of our family.

Sometimes it is difficult for people who are used to expressing feelings and thoughts with very few words to talk about what they do and how they do, especially when they have a sincere yet contemplative spirit, forged from hard labour and the wonders of a farming life.

The Trevisan family, on of those families who has always been related to wine making, is also composed of artists and engineers, as well as a number of very important people in the area. Indeed, our family tree can be traced back to the 1500s, an epoch in which Zaccaria Trevisan became the mayor of Lonigo under the Republic of Venice (1518-1528). Then there is also Antonio Gaddo, a noteworthy figure in the reconstruction of Asiago after the Great War, who designed the church of Alonte (1868), illustrious people who have passed down their love for things done well.
This is why we wanted to rediscover the ancient flavours, and it is precisely in this manner that we rediscovered Prosecco, our prosecco sparkling wine, a constant presence in our tradition, as confirmed by the spirit of our family.
Today, we want to share with you the flavours encapsulated in our sparkling wines. We wanted to return the antique vines to their ancient splendour, we believed in their
potential and the results have proven us right, and this is our story today: in just a few years
we have gone from making 6,000 to 30,000 bottles of wine, but we still want to limit our production, placing emphasis on quality rather than quantity. And, we have done so by diversifying our production, dedicating ourselves to IGT, Veneto reds and whites. We organise events and meetings with the conviction that our welcoming hills and the taste for fine things must be shared.

Our family, intrinsically tied to tradition and respect for all good things, wants to pass on our taste for hospitality, even if only in a virtual manner.

The Italian wines.....

In the past, Italy was called the "Land of Wine",and for years wine has been the most important Italian products in the world. The vines grow in every region. Yet, it wasn't until late in the 20th century that prosecco italy wines gained a reputation for products of the highest international quality. In the modern times, in response to pressure from winemakers, the laws have been “updated” to encourage experimentation with untraditional grape varieties and techniques. There are four different categories at the moment:

Vino da Tavola (VDT) - Simple everyday wine that carry neither a varietal name nor a vintage date.

Typical Geographic Indication, IGT- The government's purpose is to upgrade a major portion (about 40 percent) of Italy's table wine production by placing these categories on the same levels of the French Vin du Pays or German Landwein. The wine's label has to present its specific region and may cite varietal type and vintage. Growers or regional governments prosecco sparkling wine are required to apply for IGT status just as they do for a DOC or DOCG appellation. Currently, there are more than 100 IGTs.

Denomination of Controlled Origin, DOC - Wines presenting this appellation are registered by the government. Their labels must present clearly their zone of origin and the wines are required to meet certain production standards. Only approved methods of planting, cultivating and fertilizing can be used.

Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, DOCG - The top of the categories, this appellation embraces all DOC assurances and further requires a producer to control and guarantee everything claimed on the wine's label: origin, contents, name of grower and bottler, place of bottling and product's alcohol strength. Affixed to the bottle is a government seal of approval, and the wine is subject to analysis at any time by government inspectors.

Our family, intrinsically tied to tradition and respect for all good things, wants to pass on our taste for hospitality, even if only in a virtual manner.
